On Thursday evening, May 13, NBC will air a special episode of Frasier followed by the series finale.
If you watch Frasier, check your To Do List to make sure both episodes will be recorded. Because of NBC's unusual start and stop times, you may also want to adjust the end-time of the finale to ensure that you don't miss the final few moments. To add extra time, select the finale episode from the To Do List, select "Options" and then adjust the "Stop Recording" option.
PLEASE NOTE: If you watch ER, do NOT adjust your recording of Frasier.
Instead, consider adding extra time to the end of ER.
To get to the To Do List, go to TiVo Central > Pick Programs To Record > To Do List.

That is, have a setting for “add extra time” whereas the TiVo will record a few extra minutes if and only if there are no conflicts.
Even better yet would be to have a option to have to TiVo to record extra time automatically for all recorded shows if there was no conflict. -

I've recently struggled with this scenario:
I wanna grab two rerun episodes of Chappelle Show so I temporarily edit my Season Pass - changing 'First Run' to All'. My Season Pass is normally set up to record one extra minute. The problem is, the episodes are back to back. If I let the first run until 10:31, I won't be able to record the 10:30 episode. I'm guessing I have to edit the shows individually, and/or program them manually - right?
Anyway, I like Pete's simple approach.
